With packed work schedules and a busy home with two children under five, Tommy Bowe and his wife Lucy Whitehouse have a lot on their plate.
While the 38-year-old Ireland AM host has a jampacked day in front of the cameras, his partner, who is a former Miss Wales, works as a nurse.
The couple, who married in 2015, are parents to their five-year-old daughter Emma and their son Jamie, who is two.
In an interview with the Irish Independent he shared the handy hack they have developed to balance the ‘massive juggle’ of balancing work and family life.
He told the publication: ‘I have to put in work commitments and home commitments and she will do likewise. We both just have to work around each other.’
Both of their children attend crèche and the couple have the wonders of tech to thank for making their days that bit easier to tackle.
They use a shared calendar so that they can keep track of what needs to be done and who needs to be where.
For the duo it’s all about compromise and communication, as he explained: ‘It’s very much about trying to communicate as much as you can with your wife and trying to make sure that for work I can get my work done to the best of my ability and vice versa for her.’
The presenter previously won praise for his honest admission about the top arguments him and his wife have at home.
While he has to set the alarm clock very early in the mornings, he also shared that he loves that his job at Ireland AM affords him precious time with his kids.
‘It’s funny old hours with this show, but it means I am home in the evening. I am home in the afternoon. That means I can spend quality time with my wife and my kids as well,’ he said.
