Buckle in and get those snacks ready TV fans as Love Island’s ultimate test is coming our way and there’s finally an Irish bombshell going into the villa.
All true fans know that Casa Amor is the make or break point for the couples with there having been a fair few infamous moments created by the dramatic milestone in previous seasons.
While we’re now four weeks into the winter season, we’ve yet to have an Irish Islander on the show but that’s about to change as Dublin’s Martin Akinola, 27, is enroute and promising to ‘cause confusion’.
The senior software engineer is very ‘excited’ to make his debut and get grafting the girls – and he even knows a former Islander who has shared some tips.
Speaking ahead of his entrance, Martin was brimming with confidence and admitted that’s got his eye on several of the beautiful ladies.
As for his plans in Casa Amor, he said: ‘I’m excited to go in, cause some confusion, some little problems. It’s a 50/50 chance – win or lose – but I’m a winner.
‘If I like someone, I’m just going to say. And then if I like someone else, I’m just going to go for that. I’m going to explore my options and just be myself.’
Martin, who’s a self-confessed ‘nerd’, added that honesty is an important quality in any romantic love interest and that he’s usually pretty successful with dating.
Although, he will have to adapt his flirting technique in Casa Amor. His go-to first move of sending ‘a rose emoji in the DMs’ won’t work for him now and he’ll have to pack on the in-person charm.
The hunk has also been getting a few tips from his good pal and former Islander Dami Hope before going on the show. ‘He said “Do your thing, be yourself and everyone else will get to know you, and get to see why we’re friends”,’ Martin explained. ‘He was saying, “You tell the boys on a night out, ‘This is how to talk to a girl’, now go and show them how it’s done.” I was like, I can do that!’
