Ah yes, love is well and truly in the air right now and that means one thing. It’s the perfect time to drop a trailer for the upcoming romance movie Love Again starring Céline Dion and some other big names.
While it may be a while before we get to see Céline back on stage as she was recently diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome, a life-altering disease that forced her to postpone the European leg of her world tour last year, this will surely have her fans flocking to cinemas.
Starring alongside Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Sam Heughan as the couple at the centre of the story the singer plays herself or at least a version of herself in the flick.
At its heart, the movie is about finding love when you least expect it and tackles the tough issue of dealing with grief after losing and loved one.
Priyanka’s character Mira has just lost her fiancé and sends his old number a series of romantic texts in a bid to handle her broken heart yet little does she know the number has been reassigned to Sam’s character Rob Burn’s new work phone.
Of course Rob is a journalist; you know the most romantic of all the professions, and after seeing this mystery woman’s beautiful words he becomes captivated by her.
But how does singing superstar Céline Dion fit into this whole situation? Well, because of Rob’s job, he has been assigned to write up a profile on the Grammy winner and decides to ask her for help with finding Mira and winning her heart.
A very realistic situation. In fact, that’s how I met my first husband. But in all seriousness don’t we just sometimes need an extremely cheesy, could-never-happen-in-real-life movie to thaw out our cold dead hearts?
The flick is actually based on a German film SMS Fur Dich, which translates to Text For Yourself, which came out in 2009 and was based on a book by the same name written by Sofie Cramer.
When Céline posted the trailer to her social media account her fans went wild at a chance to see the star make her big screen debut. ‘Don’t like romance movies and will 100% watch this for Celine!’ commented one.
‘This looks incredible!!! And this trailer alone is making me get all the feels,’ penned another, with a third seeming to feel the same writing, ‘Omg I’m already crying!!!!!’
Love Again will hit Irish cinemas on May 12.
